Scheme of Community Development Through Polytechnic

About the Scheme :-
With view to providing meaningful and quality non-formal training to rural youth, women, school dropouts, SCs/STs, disabled, other weaker sections and under-privileged groups of the society to enable them to obtain gainful wage/self-employment and in turn improving their standard of living, the Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development [MHRD][Department of Higher Education], started a scheme named “Scheme of Community Development Through Polytechnics [CDTP]” in the year 2009. The Scheme is presently operational in 518 polytechnics covering almost the entire country. Manpower Development through Skill Development Training Programmes, Dissemination and Application of Appropriate Technologies, Technical and Support Services to the intended target groups and creating awareness among the masses about the technological advancements and contemporary issues of importance are the major activities organized under the scheme. Each polytechnic is permitted to start 5-10 extension centers within its vicinity. Each polytechnic is expected to train 600 persons, demonstrate five technologies and organize five technical services camps annually. Through our Institute every year 600 – 650 Trainees are converted into skilled manpower. At the result these skilled persons are going to start their own business or getting employment at various organization. The success rate of which is 60%.

Monitored & Funded by :-
The institutions implementing the scheme receive recurring and non-recurring grants from MHRD, Govt. of India for carrying out activities prescribed under the scheme. The scheme is monitored at the state level by the Directorate of Technical Education, at regional level by the concerned NITTTR, and at the national level by the MHRD, Govt. of India.

Pramod Mahajan Skill Development Programe (Kaushalya Vikas Yojana) (PMKVY) :-

About the Scheme :-
Govt. of Maharashtra approved a Channabasweshwar Skill Center, Latur under Scheme ” Pramod Mahajan Skill Development Programe (Kaushalya Vikas Yojana)” (PMKVY) to Serve multiple needs including carrier oriented education and Skills to Students interested in directly entering the workforce & general interest courses to the community for personal development & interest.
The National Policy for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship – 2015 has projected a shortage of 109 million Skilled persons by 2022 and called for an integrates effort to set up Skilling of youth under Pramod Mahajan Skill Development Programe (Kaushalya Vikas Yojana)” (PMKVY).
